FWIW, Operawire.com says she was "a leading soprano in the world" and played "Bess in Porgy and Bess at the New York City Opera for six years" and "went to Russia with Ed Sullivan for the United States Department" [sic]. The New York Times wrote an obituary for her, and they don't do that for everybody (although I don't know what it says, since I haven't bothered to find a way through their paywall.) —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 01:40, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
