Post survey link for student thesis experiment on user page?

edit

Hey,

I need participants for a cognitive neuroscience survey and I am wondering if it is appropriate for me to post a plea for help on my user page? I need 200 participants by next week (I got in this mess because the IRB was overwhelmed and couldn't approve my proposal until last week, despite the fact that I had it in to them by JULY!) Any thoughts??? Thanks!

Hi there Xttina.Garnet! Sorry to hear how much of a rush you're in. Technically, user pages are supposed to be for activities related to the betterment of Wikipedia, but occasionally the rules are bent - have a look at our user page guidelines for more details on what is acceptable. Myself, I think it would be fine to include a plea for help as long as you are not too over-the-top about it. You could also leave a note on the talk pages of related WikiProjects (I suggest asking at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Neuroscience). Let me know if you have any more questions. You can reply here as I'll be watching this page. All the best — Mr. Stradivarius 08:14, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Mr. Stradivarius, Thank you so much for your advice. I did post the request on my page, but I tried to put it in more context. I will ask at the Neuroscience project, per your suggestion. Thank you again! --Xttina.Garnet (talk) 09:07, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice. I think you should probably add a date to your user-page request though, as it's not clear when the week starts and finishes. — Mr. Stradivarius 09:12, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done! Thank you again! --Xttina.Garnet (talk) 09:24, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Xttina, I'd like to welcome you to the WikiProject. I've been sort of informally maintaining it for the last few months, and if there is any question I can answer or any way I might be helpful, please let me know. Regards, Looie496 (talk) 16:59, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Where is the correct place to post about a wiki commons project that is relevant to a wikipeda project? I would like to tell people on the disability project about a idea to recruit women with disabilities: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Harnessing_an_invisible_resource#Participants.

Try the project's talk page at WT:WikiProject Disability. However, that's a project dealing with articles related to disability; I'm not sure the grant idea would be of particular interest to them. Huon (talk) 23:26, 25 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
