Name

Billboard and Allmusic use Shivkumar, as do all the news sources from the 1980s and 1990s (per Google News Archive), so this is how he became known in the English-speaking world. Shiv Kumar is how Indian newspapers nowadays tend to spell his name, certainly influenced by Sharma's decision to have his name spelled differently, but I think we better stick with the established name. Pandit

I removed the many instances of "Pandit" as they are frequently applied to elder Indian classical musicians and clutter the text without adding to understanding. However, I think per MOS:HONORIFIC dicussion of Sharma being honorifically addressed in that way can be mentioned in the lead with a source. Hekerui (talk) 21:31, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
