Updates no longer available

edit

All Updates are no longer available from Microsoft website. Censorship (from inside WP) does not allow to give this information in the article itself. --ProloSozz (talk) 11:49, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

The other editor says it is available. Do you have a source for your claim? FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 07:56, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Do you or the other editor have a source from where the updates can be downloaded? Here is a nice presentation what updates should be installed. Microsoft does no longer offer them (all attempts result in error 404 (file not found); and the wayback-machine (interet archive) only saved the webpage, but not the update file! There is no need for a "source that claims that the updates are no longer available". There is the need for the links to the updates to prove that the updates are still available! You (and the other editor) are warmly invited to pesent the links where the updates are still downloadable! If they no longer exist, the information that the they are no longer availalbe, has to be mentioned in the article. Btw: updates for other (older) office suites from Microsoft are still available for download! --ProloSozz (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Btw: yes, I have a source (but you won't accept it as valuable): the transcript of a Microsoft support chat. They state clearly that this product is no longer supported, mention a link to the (nonworking) downloads, and if you contest that the link does not work, the answer is that the product is no longer supported and to look in forum; and in forum the problem is the same: people contest that the updates are no longer available, and the answer is none or "no longer supported" ... --ProloSozz (talk) 10:58, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the "warm" invitation, but I will not interfere in your affairs. Because, first, the burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material and second, there are indications that the problem here is not your statement alone but also you yourself. I suspect you have done something very upsetting to other editor. If I had to guess I'd say you reported him to Arbitration Committee?
Either leave the matter for a while (say a weeks or so) and try again later, or somehow make up to the other editor. And remember, it is impossible to avoid an editor with whom you have a problem. You will eventually run into him again, and again, and again, and again. You might as well learn the art of dispute resolution. FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 19:06, 28 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
