Death

edit

The "Death" section doesn't mention his death. 2601:603:4D00:1D17:BDD2:6530:E841:7E26 (talk) 01:47, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

memoteca.it

edit

Some Wikipedias mention this PDF and source it to Giorgio Dell'Arti but as best I can tell, the PDF is an (unreliable) compilation of writings, of which Dell'Arti's 2002-01-26 piece from IO Donna on New York traditions (one mentioning Buda) is only one small portion. From what I translated, it isn't an encyclopedic source worth pursuing further. czar 03:12, 28 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sources

Most of the Sacco/Vanzetti volumes and even Buda's Wagon had little on Buda himself czar 22:35, 28 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I'll be taking a look at this article for the January 2022 GAN backlog drive. If you haven't already signed up, please feel free to join in! Although QPQ is not retired, if you're feeling generous, I also have a list of GA nominations of my own right here.

Good Article review progress box
Criteria: 1a. prose ( ) 1b. MoS ( ) 2a. ref layout ( ) 2b. cites WP:RS ( ) 2c. no WP:OR ( ) 2d. no WP:CV ( )
3a. broadness ( ) 3b. focus ( ) 4. neutral ( ) 5. stable ( ) 6a. free or tagged images ( ) 6b. pics relevant ( )
Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked   are unassessed

Infobox and lede

edit
  • Per WP:INFONAT, use of the "nationality" parameter in an infobox should be avoided when citizenry can be easily inferred – in Buda's case, he was born and died in Italy, so it's safe to say we know he's of Italian nationality
  • Link Milwaukee in lede

Early life and careers

edit
  • Link the first instance of anarchism in the body
  • Two sentences in a row start with "Buda" (Buda emigrated to the United States, Buda went to Colorado). One should be rephrased
  • Delink Wisconsin per MOS:OVERLINK
  • Link "strikes" to Strike action
  • "to prepare to fight in a revolution" → "in preparation for revolutionary fighting"

Bombings

edit
  • Delink Bay View incident, which is linked above
  • "Buda, under the fake name "Mario Rusca", was also likely" → "Operating under the pseudonym "Mario Rusca", Buda was likely also"
  • There should be quotation marks around "Mike Boda" just as there are around "Mario Rusca"
  • Link "bootlegger" to Rum-running, our article on liquor bootlegging
  • "could have meant their" → "could lead to their"

Return to Italy

edit
  • When did he return to Providence?
  • Combine the last two paragraphs, as they all have to do with his later life and would avoid having 1-2 sentence paragraphs

Personal life

edit
  • Two neutrality issues in this section:
    • First, "He was known to be" by whom? (I assume his fellow anarchists, but this should be specified and not in Wikipedia's voice)
    • Second, the phrase intensely tenacious, loyal, with tough conviction in the Wiki's voice comes across as a value judgment of an ethnic group

References

edit
  • Very good

General comments

edit
  • All images are in the public domain and are relevant to the article
  • No stability concerns in the revision history
  • Earwig score looks great at 18%

  • Thanks! I've addressed the first batch. I wouldn't expect a general reader from English-speaking Europe to know what Wisconsin is, so I'll keep it linked. czar 02:13, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the brief wait, I have been traveling and grappling with some last-minute changes provided by the school district in which I teach. Putting on hold now. Feel free to ping me with questions, and let me know when you're finished! — GhostRiver 16:20, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, @GhostRiver, and no worries—I appreciate the review! Believe I've addressed the above, when you have a chance to take a look. czar 05:26, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for making those changes. I added a small phrase at the start of the Return to Italy subhead in order to help with the flow, but otherwise, I'm happy to pass this article. — GhostRiver 16:09, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
