Tell Sally and The Gift of the Wondrous Fig Tree

edit

According to mokka.hu, Mondják meg Zsófikának was published in English as Tell Sally (translated by Ursula McLean, 1963), and Tündér Lala was published in English as The Gift of the Wondrous Fig Tree (translated by Noémi M. Najbauer, illustrated by Katalin Szegedi, 2008).

I’ve also heard that Tell Sally isn’t a novel for young women in the same sense as Álarcosbál ("Masked Ball") and Születésnap ("Birthday") are: Magda Szabó wrote it primarily for adults, but in a way that young women would also be able to read it. (And it is about three girls between the fifth and sixth grade: Sally, her cousin Marianne, and their classmate Dora.) I’ve read that the novel has a separate edition for young people. --Kletta (talk) 20:59, 29 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Writing Career Section

edit

Didn't see any grammar or spelling errors. In the writing career section, a few books are mentioned that have small descriptions. It might be nice to separate the descriptions from the writing career section. Max Rogow (talk) 05:01, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Error on the photo description

edit

The photo description says "Szabó in 1979". However, in 1979 she would have been 62 years old and that is clearly NOT the face of a 62 year old. Isn't it most likely a typo, 1979 instead of 1997 maybe? In 1997 she would have been 80, a lot more plausible given how she looks in the photo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluefairy en (talkcontribs) 18:55, 2 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
