suggest a reworking of the "Sham" section

edit

The extensive section on Sham's Triple Crown journey appears out of proportion to the rest of the article. Recommend it be moved to a later part of the article and be shortened to perhaps a sentence or two, ideally along with examples other major horses and races that made Pincay's career significant. If there is a desire to include this level of detail, it probably belongs in the article on Sham himself, rather than the article on Pincay. Additionally, if kept, it should probably be reworded to avoid editorial content such as wording like "superhorse", or "tired after a good effort". Cigar95 (talk) 03:22, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Winningest in sports articles under discussion

Please participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style#"winningest" in sports articles. Until consensus is reached, articles should be reverted to the previous stable version, per the policy WP:NOCONSENSUS: "In discussions of proposals to add, modify or remove material in articles, a lack of consensus commonly results in retaining the version of the article as it was prior to the proposal or bold edit." —Dennis Bratland (talk) 18:58, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

BLP point

edit

The phrasing: "…was once flat racing's winningest all-time jockey, still holding second place many years after his retirement." is unsourced wirhin the article, and I intend to remove it forthwith under WP:BLP#Reliable_sources, which states, "…contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion. This applies whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable, and whether it is in a biography or in some other article." --Pete (talk) 20:21, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
