Infobox and lede

• Mention the saves against all 30 teams here, as it's kind of a big deal
• Maybe add a quick sentence at the end about how the Twins hired him after his retirement, just to tie it all together

• The WaPo article doesn't actually mention that he played basketball and football

Second stint with the Rockies

• In addition to being the oldest player in the NL, he was also the oldest pitcher on a major league roster [1] and had a couple other records that probably bear mentioning.

• Does it say what # appearance it was for the Jays when Hawkins recorded his save?

• Pipe AL East to American League East.
• "Was given the opportunity to close out a game" is a little weak. He did close out that game. Also mention that he got the final out against Ryan Flaherty, and that this was their first AL East pennant since 1993.
• Instagram isn't the best primary source. Pair it, at least, with something like this Sports Illustrated article where he confirms his retirement to the press.

Personal life

• "Hawkins is married to Anita" is a little awkward. Can probably be combined into one sentence, i.e. "Hawkins and his wife Anita have two children"
• Would like a little more detail on his job with the Twins. Found some here [2].
• "young mom" → "young mother"
• I saw recently that he also helped a TikTok star after a home invasion

• Make sure all sources are archived using the tool, especially anything with limited or subscription-only access
  • I am not willing to click on all the references to do this. I don't have a subscription to everything, and I try to use ones which only allow occasional views as sparingly as possible, in order to utilize them when they contain information difficult to find anywhere else. • Citations to The Denver Post need "|url-access=limited"
• Citations to The New York Times need "|url-access=limited"
• There are 37 citations to his Baseball Reference page. While obviously it's the best resource for his annual, well, stats, you can probably find other sources for the trades to cut down on that a little.

General comments

• Photos look good
• Very stable.
• Earwig score is a little high at 61.3%, but it looks like a mirror site, so I'm unbothered
• Two big things that I see missing: there is no separate section devoted to his pitching style/scouting reports, and while his consideration in the Baseball Hall of Fame is indirectly referenced in the "See also" section, it has no prose dedicated to it. I found this article from the Chicago Sun-Times where Bob Nightengale explains why he voted for Hawkins.
  • The Baseball Hall of Fame also has a 1995 scouting report available for use.

Final comments and verdict

What is here is good! Mostly some wikilinks to be added and some minor prose corrections. There are a few sections where I believe that the content could be expanded, particularly with regards to his later years, so I'm going to put the article  On hold until those sections are expanded upon.
