  •   Comment: It doesn't appear that Winebold is profiled extensively in any reliable sources. He is mentioned in association with various productions, but this is not the significant coverage required by WP:42. LukeSurl t c 17:08, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Luke! I moved your comment here, and thank you for reviewing. My thought was that the detailed profile in The Journal News and reprinted in the Democrat and Chronicle was enough to count as nominal significance by guideline 42. Then there is the detailed section in the Music Theatre of Connecticut playbill and there are many reviews that each provide up to a paragraph of coverage. I also felt that the "Renaissance" nature of the material, including the Drama Desk and New Hampshire Theatre awards, the music direction at Off-Broadway theaters, the multiple TV appearances, the multiple film appearances, and in several cases the very positive focus of the play coverage toward Winebold added up to sufficient notability. It seems that Off-Broadway directors are a bit harder to establish notability rules for and so I am asking at the Musical Theatre Wikiproject.
I have also found a profile in Allegro magazine, and an official educational blog that cites Winebold's weekly column at a music direction website, and a couple other supporting links that can be used. I am compiling these now and I hope they will get this article over the hump. Frieda Beamy (talk) 20:17, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I do not consider this person to be WP:NOTABLE. His experience as a stage actor and music director is in Off-Broadway and regional productions. His TV/film appearances are relatively minor. Sorry! -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:37, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your reply. I guess I'll keep working on this, as it seemed to pass the general guideline and I was hoping there was also an OB guideline but apparently not. If anyone else can comment on the general guideline, please do. Frieda Beamy (talk) 02:47, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I would not normally consider a stage actor to be notable unless he or she had some fairly extensive experience on Broadway or in the West End, or had won a Tony or Olivier Award. For TV/film actors, they should have major roles in some successful films, a recurring role in a popular TV show, or lots of character roles in successful films/TV shows, or a major award. See WP:ENT. -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:30, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK, but whenever I look I find more sources. He may not meet the Broadway criteria and there don't seem to be OB criteria, but the general notability guideline seems to be holding up. In addition to the above, we now have Public Opinion, Back Stage, The Laconia Daily Sun, The Hippo, patch.com, Westport News, The Hour, The Alumni Community, Columbia University School of the Arts, Festival de Cannes, Bronx Times-Reporter, New York Pops, The Irish Examiner, and good support sources. Seems like GNG is met! Frieda Beamy (talk) 21:34, 30 July 2014‎ (UTC)Reply
