I added "living" to the wording of the sentence. Samuel Johnson and Alexander Pope also edited the complete works without assistants generally, no matter the failings of their editions, or comparison to the features of modern editions. I admire Bevington greatly for doing this much scholarly work (it puts many scholars to shame) but I don't think he's the only scholar to have ever done this.--Artimaean (talk) 02:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
