Location and General Description of Property

The railroad of The Maywood & Sugar Creek Railway Company, hereinafter referred to as the Maywood, is located wholly within the State of Missouri. Its main line extends from Sugar Creek Junction, Mo., upon The Kansas City Southern Railway Company, to a refinery of the Standard Oil Company at Sugar Creek, Mo., a distance of 1.534 miles. The Maywood also owns 0.405 mile of other tracks, the total mileage being 1.939 miles.

Corporate History

The Maywood was incorporated under the general laws of the State of Missouri on March 22, 1904, for a period of 99 years. Its purpose was to construct, maintain, and operate a railroad from a point in Jackson County, Mo., at or near Maywood on The Kansas City Southern Railway Company's line, to a connection with The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company in the same county, a distance of approximately 1.6 miles, with such switches, spurs, side tracks, and branches as might be found necessary.

Development of Fixed Physical Property

The line as constructed extends from Sugar Creek Junction on The Kansas City Southern Railway Company's line to the Standard Oil Company refinery, a distance of 1.534 miles, together with 0.405 miles of industrial tracks. It was built by the Maywood during the year 1904 and on completion was taken over for operation by The Kansas City Southern Railway Company and is considered and treated as sidetrack mileage by that company.
