Michael Dorman

I thought I was going crazy, and just as I was getting ready to pick out a nice, comfortable straitjacket on Amazon, it turns out there’s a lot of people besides myself who think that Michael Dorman as Gordo Stevens on For All Mankind is mimicking the character of Trip Tucker as played by Connor Trinneer on Star Trek: Enterprise. Is this some kind of hitherto unknown acting method, because it’s really surreal to watch. There’s even an episode or two where Gordo seems to become Tucker on screen. Thank you. I had a very strange experience watching the first season of FAM. There were several moments where I saw Gordo transition into Trip, and my jaw hit the floor. I quickly looked online and found I was not alone in reaching this conclusion. Later, I realized that the creator of FAM, Ronald D. Moore, was a Star Trek alumni, but I don’t think ever made it to the Enterprise production team. I’m now wondering if there was a conversation between Moore and Dorman where he said, "just play it like Trip". Such a surreal experience to see this. I've long pondered whether there are secret social synonyms for the same general spirit of dedicated self-serving round-the-clock hickory dickory dock in sham political, crooked religious or Japaness black metal circles. And, since there must be, what are they? Like "kayfabe", will public knowledge of these other sexy workers' safewords portend their own imminent gradual declines? Back in the glory days of pankration, did anybody ever really win via figure-four leglock? Nobody has since the dawn of the so-called "mixed martial arts", as far as anyone in the modern record-keeping game seems to recall. Maybe it is virtually impossible to apply to an uncooperative opponent. In any case, everyone who's ever agreed to let someone else cinch it in would rightly swear in a court of law that it's a twisted and blessed union that is unilaterally unbreakable.
