New Wikipedia editors, getting stuck in!

An editathon was held at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, London, on Wednesday 29 July, hosted by Wikipedian in Residence, Andy Mabbett, User:Pigsonthewing.

Features

edit

The focus was on chemistry-related topics; including both scientific and non-scientific content (the latter including biographies, for example). We worked on Wikipedia, but also sister projects including Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata.

Assistance was available for new editors.

Participants were able to access the society's extensive library and RSC staff provided access to papers from the society's journals.

What to bring

edit

You can bring a laptop and use the venue's free Wi-Fi. Photography will be allowed, so bring your cameras and tripods.

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

What to work on

edit

A list of suggested articles is available.

To help prepare for the following conclusion, an appropriate article has been started — beer chemistry. This is currently just a stub but has been seeded with some RSC publications. Cheers! Andrew D. (talk) 19:57, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
