Occupy movement criticism

edit

Hello there. Several editors have mentioned we seem a bit lite on criticism in the Occupy movement article, and I have to agree. The dedicated article you're working on seems to be written and researched to a high standard, and would be great to link to from a small sub section in the main article, which Id be happy to write if no one else does. As you seem to have paused your editing, if you dont resume or raise objections in the next 3-4 weeks, I might promote your sub article direct to main space myself as it would be a shame for your excellent work not to be used. PS, happy new year to you, and nice to meet a fellow editor born in Royal Windsor! FeydHuxtable (talk) 17:30, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message on my talk. Sorry to mess you about but Im no longer motivated to do the work involved, due to the way some of my friends in the resuce squad are being treated. Hopefully someone else will take care of it, if not, might get to it in a few weeks. FeydHuxtable (talk) 14:01, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I know it's been a few years but I see that User:Yachtsman1/Criticism of the occupy movement is still there. I don't know if you're still working on it but would you consider moving it to draftspace under WP:AFC? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:35, 4 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited St. Mary's High School (Annapolis, Maryland), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Severna Park (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies

edit

Uh, hi. Can you please state why you removed the content for Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies filmography (1940–49). You need to state a reason why you removed most of the headings. Apparently, I look at these cartoons regularly so I know what is going on, so just state a reason before you remove things. Thanks. Yay Dad (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge

edit

Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Thanks.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:42, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I cited a nonpartisan college study. Stop removing content from Wikipedia. You are hurting the community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.194.72.58 (talk) 03:32, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, 66.194.72.58, you are attempting to WP:POV the article. Stop it. Home Lander (talk) 03:36, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Home Lander is correct on this point66.194.72.58, and if you wish to work within the community, you have to follow its rules, which includes avoiding POV on articles. Yachtsman1 (talk) 03:38, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

By the way, the cited page states clearly something along the line of "conservative" at the top. That doesn't help either in matters of NPOV. 69.165.196.103 (talk) 03:44, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Good god, amidst the above good faith IP edit and the personal attacks from the problem child at hand here, I couldn't even keep the two of them straight. Home Lander (talk) 03:54, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
No ill will, we all make mistakes. I'll file a report at ANI/3RR - that page probably needs some kind of protection (given what's just happening...) 69.165.196.103 (talk) 03:56, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
This is like the bad old days. Yachtsman1 (talk) 03:57, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Fill me in, I'd love to hear about them! Home Lander (talk) 03:58, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
POV was, shall we say, an issue post 9/11 and for about five-seven years thereafter. The edit wars from both sides of the aisle were amazing. I hope it does not devolve to this point again.Yachtsman1 (talk) 04:04, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Understandable. In the era of Trump, however, nothing would be too surprising to me. Home Lander (talk) 04:10, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
True, but it makes real scholarly efforts to keep things neutral and balanced all the more important. We can sink or swim, it is all our choice in the end. Yachtsman1 (talk) 04:14, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Well said. Home Lander (talk) 04:18, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Page has now been protected so at least this is over with for now. Home Lander (talk) 04:34, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Good news at least. Thanks for the update!Yachtsman1 (talk) 04:36, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Criticism of the occupy movement, from its old location at User:Yachtsman1/Criticism of the occupy movement. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. North America1000 16:20, 12 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
