Farlands Booth

edit

Hi there – just a query about your edit to Hayfield. I'm local, and as far as I understand, Farlands and Booth are two separate farms; I've never heard them lumped together in this way (and even if they are, I'm not sure it deserves such a prominent mention in the lead of the Hayfield article). I'd be interested to know where you found references to Farlands Booth. Cheers. Dave.Dunford (talk) 09:29, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply on my talk page. It looks like the original mistake may have been the Ordnance Survey's (if you look at the 1:25000 map the true situation is more obvious) and I suspect the other sites that refer to "Farlands Booth" may have used an OS gazetteer. It's a fair point about Kinder Scout – I've added a reference in the lead of the Hayfield article, although it's mentioned later. I've also removed Farlands from the Derbyshire list - there are lots of similar farms here and elsewhere that aren't mentioned so I'm not sure why it was there in the first place. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Blackbrook, Derbyshire, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Duffield (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I am very sorry for not having correctly tested my link re Duffield. I will recheck and get it corrected.
