Hello WikiWN888. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WikiWN888. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WikiWN888|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 08:40, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I am not an expert at this. I have a conflict of interest, which I hope I managed to disclose, but am not specifically a paid editor. Please let me know how best to make this edit request if not in this way. Thanks WikiWN888 (talk) 09:31, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
What is the general nature of your conflict of interest? Note that "paid editing" is not limited to specific payment for edits, but includes any paid relationship like employment in any capacity.
You made a COI edit request correctly, but otherwise did not disclose, which you should do on your user page(User:WikiWN888). 331dot (talk) 09:45, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes I am employed by the company. Please advise me on how to express this. Many thanks WikiWN888 (talk) 10:25, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please follow the instructions in my initial message. If you find the coding too challenging, you may just write a statement on User:WikiWN888 to the effect of "Per the Terms of Use I disclose that I am employed by Cheyne Capital Management". 331dot (talk) 12:35, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Hopefully I have made that disclosure correctly. WikiWN888 (talk) 13:44, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's fine, thank you. Your edit request will eventually be reviewed by another editor. 331dot (talk) 14:21, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great. Thanks very much for your help! WikiWN888 (talk) 17:41, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
