Strasburg Rail Road

I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but is there any chance you can make a page protected request l? Because this IP user keeps continiesly adding the China Railway locomotive in the locomotive roster, this is like the third or fourth time this users has done this. Therefore I think the article should be protected indefinitely to prevent future vandalism. 136.226.106.244 (talk) 17:36, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello IP editor, I have requested page protection on your behalf due to the repeated addition of unsourced claims to the article. I doubt protection will be granted indefinitely, but I've asked for at least 1 month. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 17:46, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've only finally managed to look at this article today for the first time in a long time (17 years), unfortunately at a very poor timing - just four hours after you've reviewed it - sorry! I could move the article back myself after researching and sourcing the article, but since it was so recently reviewed I thought I should double check with you to see if it's now up to scratch for it to return. - Mailer Diablo 19:24, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Mailer diablo: Wow, the article looks quite different from the one I reviewed this morning. I think it's ready for mainspace now, I will accept it if you submit it. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 19:30, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for taking a long time to reply, but I just wanted to say thank you for requesting the Strasburg Railroad article to be protected again from vandalism. But unfortunately the vandalism still hasn’t stopped, because recently this user removed this info here:https://en.luquay.com/w/index.php?title=Strasburg_Rail_Road&diff=prev&oldid=1229367113, about 90’s 1,472, is there by any chance you could revert that? I have a sinking feeling we're going to be rewriting a lot of articles in the Tidewater. This may be an opportunity to expand Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains/Style advice and set up a standard model for this sort of work. Mackensen (talk) 22:00, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good point. I'll take a look at that page, it definitely needs some work. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 13:14, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Southern Pacific GP9E and GP9R

edit

Dear @Trainsandotherthings.

Apparrently an article that was created by this mysterious "Australian railroad IP" has been draftified.

Article in question: Southern Pacific GP9E and GP9R

According to a quote stated by @Daniel, it is stated "Note that articles/drafts created prior to this closure cannot be deleted per this clause". Apparently someone has broken this rule and decided to draftify an article that was done prior to said closure. I would recommend you take action and message this said person that draftified the article and alert them with the quote that the article cannot be deleted.

If that article stays in draftspace for over 6 months, then it would get deleted.

Just giving you a heads up and/or alert about something that has happened to an article that was part of one of the reports that you got involved in.

Repeat, I'm just giving you a heads up.
