Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

This is especially important when you edit potentially contentious articles, such as those about politicians, where unexplained mass changes can be seen as "sanitizing" an article.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! clpo13(talk) 05:32, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

As a addendum, it may be best to bring up drastic changes to an article on its talk page in order to gain consensus. clpo13(talk) 05:35, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to New York politicians

edit

Please note that the terms of office in New York do not start on January 3. The legal term starts on January 1, and the Legislature convenes on the Wednesday after the first Monday in January. Also, please check out the links to people's bios, and see if the linked name is that of the intended person. Like at James F. Brennan you linked to Joe Ferris as his predecessor, but that was a baseball player, while Assemblyman Joseph Ferris has no article yet. Kraxler (talk) 19:01, 23 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this was certainly true on the Joyner article. I would watch out for this when cutting and pasting. Otherwise all the best. Blythwood (talk) 22:11, 23 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored.   Please do not add or change content, as you did at Tim Derickson, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:53, 19 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Politician

edit

When writing/improving articles about politicians, could you takje more care about your linking? Your list of localities is often full of links to disambiguation pages. For example, Matt Dolan had ten links to disambiguation pages, John Brooks (politician) eight and so on.

May I advise that you start using Wikipedia:WPCleaner, an easy tool to find and repair links to disambiguation pages? The Banner talk 12:42, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Carlina Rivera, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Rose Hill, East Village and Murray Hill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

I noticed your recent edit to Zellnor Myrie does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:
