Re: Harbour Island

Hi SurfsUp. Thanks for your message. It's good to get feedback even if not necessarily in agreement. My disambiguating Harbour/Harbor Island/Islets was not so much because I saw it as necessary (you are quite right - not strictly necessary, at least not at present) but more as being useful. The three pages disambiguated had very similar, though not identical, names and, my own experience tells me, could have led to confusion, especially since the Bahamas island is sometimes spelt 'Harbor' on US websites. Moreover, some googling found a few more places with the same or very similar name that could appear on Wikipedia in future. So I felt that, increasingly, the disambig was moving towards 'necessary'. However, if you wish to switch the Bahamas island back, please feel free to do so. Cheers.Maias (talk) 23:49, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Surfs Up

I notice you removed a link that i added and a lot of others in the Nassau Bahamas listing. You spiffied that it was WP:EL. I have to disagree. I think every link that was there is relevant to the bahamas and is very usefull to people searching on the listing "Nassau Bahamas".

Travel guides are important. Local telephone directory is improtant. Bahamas message board community is interesting. Bahamas-Date I could maybe understand you on this. Bahamasb2b I can understand on this as he steal news info from other sources and has a very bad reputation in the Bahamas and he is not the #1 news webstie in the bahamas.. all others I just cant understand and i have read the WP:El and they all see to be OK.

So please explain your actions..

The simple explanation is the link you were placing on these various pages weren't in keeping with Wiki's external link policies WP:EL. As I went through the various pages, I also removed any other links that weren't in keeping with Wiki's external links policies. Please refer to WP:EL for external link guidelines. Here is the specific guideline I used for the link you were inserting:
"Links to the results pages of search engines, search aggregators, or RSS feeds."
In the future, please use the "discussion" tab for communications; not the "user page". Thank you. SurfsUp (talk) 19:47, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
