License tagging for Image:Sunnydays.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sunnydays.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:11, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sunnydays.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sunnydays.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:06, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

PORT.hu

edit

I added a {{hangon}} tag. The site is more or less the Hungarian equivalent of IMDB (The Hungarian Wikipedia had an article about this and had its own PORT.hu template) - It's like critics.gr, etc. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm new to Wikipedia. If I messed up putting that delete tag there then that's fine. You look like you know a thing or two more than me ;) Superstarwarsfan (talk) 04:23, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, here is the Alexa ranking: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/port.hu - 1,168 (the closer to 0, the more popular) - Since I created the article I cannot remove the tag. You may remove it if you want. :) WhisperToMe (talk) 04:28, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

how to make userboxen

edit

hello and welcome to the wonderful world of userboxen (not userboxes! ;>).

so in order to make the userboxen you made permanent, you should create subpages and paste the code into those subpages.

so, from your userpage, just add a /(name of userbox here), and this will tell you the page doesn't exist. So you "Create the page" by pasting your userbox code. voila, you now have a transcludable userbox. (see User:Superstarwarsfan/Metric for an example of one I already made for you and User:Superstarwarsfan/LovesUserboxes as an example of one that hasn't been made yet)then you can add it as a userbox by using the code {{User:Superstarwarsfan/Metric}} which will result in -

This user prefers the metric system

then you can go ahead and add these userboxen by transcluding them to the categories as well as the new userbox talk page.

erm, hope this helps! feel free to ask for clarification. xenocidic (talk) 18:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

how to categorize?

edit

you'll have to determine which category they belong in, then you can add them to the category by editing the page. the metric one would belong here Wikipedia:Userboxes/Mathematics#Measurement_systems just copy an existing line and replace it with your boxen. (eg. |{{usbk|User:Superstarwarsfan/metricplus}} ) xenocidic (talk) 18:42, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

David maron tagged for speedy deletion

edit
An article that you have been involved in editing, David maron, has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please look there to see why this is, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. BigHairRef | Talk 19:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm the one who marked the page for speedy deletion in the first place. Why did you put the warning on my talk page? Superstarwarsfan (talk) 19:44, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was because someone else had removed the speedy tag and I replaced it. I'm not sure which one it was but someone put an attacj one on and someone else a nonsense ons (you did one of them I can't remember off hand). I thought as I'd changed the speedy tag from the one that was removed that the relevant conribs might want to know why. I'm aware you weren't involved in it's creation it was just the standard message. Sorry for any confusion. BigHairRef | Talk 19:46, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Box of Fear

edit

I've declined your speedy. Technically {{db-band}} applies to bands, not automatically to their output. In any event, the band which issued this album appears to be notable, so an article on their albums seems reasonable enough. GBT/C 20:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

regarding this change

edit

You reverted the above change as vandalism. I'm curious why. Before my change, the line read: "...format was the a Fairchild 'Video Entertainment System (VES)', ...". I removed the "a" because it shouldn't have been there.--Rockfang (talk) 03:36, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

You've responded on my talk page that I removed a whole paragraph. You are incorrect. Please look at: [1]. It shows a total of 2 bytes difference between my edit and your revert. Secondly, if you look at the link in this section's title, you'll notice how the changes made are in red. Indicating that all I removed was the "a" part. If I had removed a whole paragraph, there would be a whole paragraph of red text.--Rockfang (talk) 01:32, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:CBx Color Logo.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:CBx Color Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 21:33, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Superstarwarsfan,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
