Troubles discretionary sanctions notification

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date. You have shown interest in the Troubles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

New Userbox

edit

Hi State Investigator Kurt Hartman, Of course you can have that userbox. You can post the same code on your user page, or, if you want others to use it too, you can create a separate page/template for the userbox (not just drop the code on a page). For example, you could create it under your current user page as User:State Investigator Kurt Hartman/UBX/User RAS, then place the code on that page. Then others could use it by putting {{User:State Investigator Kurt Hartman/UBX/User RAS}} on their page. If you need some help, let me know. –Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 18:56, 18 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tcr25 Thank you for the message. Could you tell me how I could create a custom name for the userbox? Kurt Hartman 22:42, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
State Investigator Kurt Hartman, The name of the userbox is just the name of the template page, so you have to create that first. If you create it in your userspace, for example at User:State Investigator Kurt Hartman/UBX/User RAS, then the name is simply {{User:State Investigator Kurt Hartman/UBX/User RAS}}. If you create in it template space, for example at Template:User Royal Aeronautical Society, then the name is simply {{User Royal Aeronautical Society}}. You can find guidance on where it's best to create the template (and how to name it) at Wikipedia:Userboxes. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 22:56, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
