Please stop editing articles to promote this sports recruiting website. It is spam, and it has been reverted. Thank you. Resolute 16:57, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Jordin Tootoo ‎. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You seem to be promoting a commercial entity called "Advance my Athlete." Please review the conflict of interest policy at WP:COI and advertising policy at WP:PROMO. Write me with questions. Everything that I have written is true, credible information. I believe the public should be aware that all of these athletes have contributed major time and energy to help get this website off the ground. I am not trying to promoting the website, but rather objectively inform people that each of these professionals is now a part of it. If I am entering this information in the wrong context or manner, please let me know, otherwise I will continue to edit these pages.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Shane390 (talkcontribs)

Your edits are promotional in tone, and that alone will get them reverted. Every single edit you made was designed to promote the recruiting agency. The placement of most of your edits - in the lead section - places undue weight on the topic. Additionally, they are unsourced. We require credible, independent sources with which to verify the additions. I'm sorry, but your word alone is not sufficient, and I have been unable to find independent coverage of this agency. Lacking that coverage, I am of the opinion that your website is not notable as Wikipedia defines it. Once it starts to gain that mainstream coverage that may change, but at this point, I do consider your additions to be spam, and at least two other editors have as well. I would ask you not to continue adding it into articles. Resolute 17:47, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I encourage you to goto www.advancemyathlete.com. This is the website itself, where if you click on the "pros" tab in the upper right hand corner of the homepage and then the "profession athletes" subtab, you will find all of the contributors that I have started to edit on wiki. How would you suggest that I change the way that I include this information to make it not sound promotional in tone? Shane390 (talk) 18:14, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looking at those bios, it appears that your site is simply listing a basic biography of those players. That does not verify they are significant contributors to your site, or even contributors at all. I believe you mean well, but given your site appears to be quite new, it does not yet have any coverage in independent sources, and as such whatever level of participation these athletes have with your company would not be considered notable at this time. At this point, I think you will have to simply wait until your site starts to get mainstream coverage before re-adding material like this. Resolute 15:35, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your advice, and I agree, it is difficult to determine the level of contribution given that most of the site is not accessible without a paid membership. With that membership, you would be able to see that these athletes really have provided countless hours of video content as well as hundreds of written articles. I will hold off for the time being, but please be aware that this content will most likely try to be added again in the near future. Thanks.Shane390 (talk) 17:42, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
