Black Box (radio)

edit

Hello! We welcome your contributions however I noticed while patrolling new pages that you created an article, Black Box (radio) that does not include any citations (references) whatsoever. The article as it exists does not provide evidence of the notability of the subject as per our guidelines WP:GNG nor WP:NCORP, and may be deleted or moved to draft. Because we are an encyclopedia, it is essential that all claims in articles are sourced to secondary or tertiary reliable sources that are fully independent of the subject. Please add reliable sourcing, and if you need help you can contact the WP:TEAHOUSE to ask questions. There are friendly, experienced editors that can provide help! Thank you, Netherzone (talk) 14:38, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello again, the citation you added does not mention Black Box (radio) at all. Perhaps you included the wrong URL? Netherzone (talk) 13:36, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Netherzone It looks like a translation from frwiki, and the citation goes to a dead link. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 04:28, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ado FM moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Ado FM, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Hey!

edit

Hi, RoundTeen! I'm Sammi Brie, and I'm an editor on radio and television topics on the English Wikipedia. I'm familiar with and have had an impact on important policies that govern radio station articles here.

I see you're porting articles from the French Wikipedia. This is great! But I have a few suggestions, which I've implemented at BlackBox (radio station). (Note the changed title—we don't use "(radio)" as a disambiguation for stations, and the name is written CamelCased.)

  • It is not practice on the English Wikipedia to have galleries of former logos or lists of former slogans.
  • On the English Wikipedia, unlike in French, citations are placed after punctuation.
  • Some of the articles seem to need more sourcing, being somewhat flimsy in French.

I am not a French speaker or writer, but I do know Spanish, so I'm not totally lost. I have written four articles on Paris stations myself (the Jewish set: Radio Shalom Paris etc.). Most importantly, I can help you navigate what you need to improve your pages. Please feel free to ping me if you need anything. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 04:48, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Imen Es, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 09:01, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Radio station articles

edit

Hi - I'm taking this here, because I see you are doing similar things at more than one article. If a radio station changes its name, we do not need (or want) to maintain two separate articles about it - we can simply move the existing article to the current name, and use redirects to help readers find the article they're looking for. Does that make sense? Girth Summit (blether) 12:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.   Hello, I'm Thibaut120094. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, MCM Pop, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Thibaut (talk) 14:47, 14 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Poto (song)

The article Poto (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to meet WP:NSONG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for uploading File:Poto cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:44, 11 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Alternative R&B albums by American artists

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Alternative R&B albums by American artists indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Unsourced genres

Hello. You've been a registered editor for over two months now. You should know that all content added to Wikipedia needs to be sourced per WP:V, so I'm confused about you adding your own assessment of genres that isn't backed up by any source to 10:35. You also continue to be distrupive and edit war after many warnings. I think a block is imminent if you don't stop. --Muhandes (talk) 09:15, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Charts in France is not considered a reliable source. >> Lil-unique1 (talk)14:08, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia because I contribute in my own way, I didn't want to commit vendalism or problems, it's truths that I don't put lies, please unblock me, in exchange I no longer contribute Wikipedia. User is block evading

edit

@Daniel Case: Hi Daniel, RoundTeen is block evading using the IP 2001:861:8481:3DA0:11C1:9BE4:D04D:6602. Other editors have brought up RoundTeen's habit of adding the French airplay chart, and I know from experience every Sunday RoundTeen will add some Belgian peaks when the charts are published, and they've made both of those sorts of edits. [10], [11]. You blocked RoundTeen for a month on March 19, they've continued making (denied) unblock requests but obviously they could not wait. Ss112 11:21, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have now blocked the /64 range on that one again for a month. Daniel Case (talk) 04:00, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Daniel Case: RoundTeen is back harassing the French admin they were before their last block: [12] (honestly I thought you had extended their block when they were caught evading using the IP you blocked). Ss112 14:16, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I should have at that time; I may have been in a rush. Daniel Case (talk) 17:24, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

User is continuing to make disruptive edits

edit

@Daniel Case: RoundTeen is continuing to add PureCharts to articles after having the discussion where it was depricated explicitly pointed out to them in an above section. I don't see why the next block should not be indefinite given the extensive disruption and second chances documented above. Regards.--NØ 14:00, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used mainly for trolling, disruption or harassment.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Request reason:

I don't understand why you're blocking me, it's stupid, I'll tell you what the problem is you're discriminating against Chartsinfrance for some inexplicable reason, so I won't post again for your sake but it's stupid RoundTeen (talk) 17:39, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Tagging @Daniel Case: to immediately file this to m:SRG for immediate referral to stewards. RoundTeen's disruptive dubious French chart behavior is now a cross-wiki issue. A lock shall be needed. 2600:1700:9BF3:220:4403:E009:6080:BD67 (talk) 03:26, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
