Speedy deletion declined: Reza Ghavamipour Koumleh

edit

Hello Physicsch. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Reza Ghavamipour Koumleh, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I don't speak Farsi but since there is an fa-wiki article with 50 refs, not all of which are unreliable at first glance, significance might exist. I recommend you ask a Farsi-speaker to determine whether to AFD this article. Thank you. SoWhy 08:52, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi @SoWhy:, I do speak Farsi and am following the article in fawiki too. It has been deleted there once before, and is nominated for speedy deletion again. Most of those references you mentioned are links to his own Instagram or Aparat account, or worthless content farms. Having won a gold medal at iENA (which is the person's only notable achievement) certainly does not make him notable enough to have an article here. Physicsch (talk) 09:43, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
My apologies. Since you have no WP:BABEL information on your userpage, I tried to err on the side of caution. Winning a gold medal at a notable trade fair (which de:Ideen-Erfindungen-Neuheiten-Ausstellung certainly is) does sound like a claim of significance though, which is on this project sufficient to avoid A7 speedy deletion. You might want to list the article at WP:AFD though if you believe there is no notability. Regards SoWhy 10:02, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@SoWhy: I will nominate the article for deletion after it gets deleted at fawiki. It is quite clear to me that it does not meet the notability guidelines. Thanks.     16:07, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
