Why aren't you archiving my page?

It seems I have a small problem: I asked your bot not to archive a few sections of my page (User:DoNotArchiveUntil format), but it's not archiving any of my talk page. This appear to be a bug and not a feature! Please tell me I'm write and that you're magically going to fix it in the next few days! Magog the Ogre (talk) 23:45, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I did not do that noarchive thingy, but my page has not been archived in one month. Any ideas on a fix? :) -- Cirt (talk) 13:55, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Not archiving

Hi,

MiszaBot III is not archiving my user talk page. It hasn't since January 1st. Could you check it's error logs and see if there's something on my talk page that is causing it to fail? Thanks, Acps110 (talkcontribs) 03:05, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

You are set to archive threads which have not been updated in 90 days. I see only one thread, at User talk:Acps110#<A>, that might qualify. Give it a couple more days and see if it archives. EdJohnston (talk) 03:31, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Ed. You are correct, that thread should be gone. I have it set to archive one at a time to get things to go away as soon as they "expire." I manually archived several older than 90 days threads in January thinking that one of them had some formatting that was messing things up, but it still has not resumed archiving. Any other ideas? Acps110 (talkcontribs) 21:11, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's still not working. Why? Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:47, 30 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing this... ;-) Acps110 (talkcontribs) 01:26, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

/dev/null ?

What the heck happened here? DMacks (talk) 13:30, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Probably something to do with the random text inside the template. I removed it and reverted the bot so it should cope next time it is on a run. SmartSE (talk) 14:24, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ahah! Makes sense, thanks for the attention to it. DMacks (talk) 17:37, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Requesting a key to use with Miszabot II

Hi Misza13. I'm requesting a key to have MiszaBot II archive the contents of WP:NCHPQ at a page that is not one of its subpages.

The reason for this: the new contributors' question page was moved from WP:New contributors' help page to WP:New contributors' help page/questions late last year. For consistency with the names of the old archives (which would facilitate both navigation and archive search), contributors at that page (slightly) favour continuing to archive the board to titles formatted Wikipedia:New contributors' help page/Archive/YEAR/MONTH (rather than Wikipedia:New contributors' help page/Questions/Archive/YEAR/MONTH - there is some discussion at Wikipedia talk:New contributors' help page/questions#Archiving and below). Per the bot's instruction page, we would need a special key to have the bot do this. Would you be able to supply one? Cheers, Gonzonoir (talk) 09:43, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

MiszaBot III

Hi there. MiszaBot is not archiving my talk page. Please help. Why so serious? Talk to me 08:44, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Never mind. It archived my talk a few hours after I posted the above message! Abhishek Talk to me 18:33, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

MoS page not being archived

Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (lead section) is set to be archived every 45 days, but has posts on it going back to 2009. Any ideas for how to fix it? SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 18:04, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

This should do it. Cheers, –xenotalk 18:11, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikinews Importer bot

I recently noticed that Portal:United States didn't appear on the list of portals updated by your bot but the bot swung though and updated the list so I knew there was a bigger problem. I attempted to figure out why but I don't know enough about how the bot works. The page it updates on the US portal is Portal:United States/News and its been running since about 2008. If you have any questions or need me to do something just let me know. --Kumioko (talk) 02:43, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

User:Wikinews Importer Bot/List is now down to 11 maintained pages, from over 200 a few days ago. Is the bot unwell? BencherliteTalk 21:36, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
After reviewing the above page for a few days now it appears that the bot has another page with a list of the projects it supports and the page listed above is simply a list of the projects that it currently has a news item for. For example if there is a news item for Wikiproject United states then it will appear there, if not then it won't be there. Im not sure that is accurate but that is how it seems to be working. --Kumioko (talk) 23:17, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, that can't be how that page works: Portal:A-League/News/Wikinews reappeared today but hasn't had a new story since last December, for example. BencherliteTalk 20:02, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Misza III vs existing archives?

I'm looking at using Miszabot III to archive my talk page. I already have three manually generated archives (named /archive1 ... /archive3). Will the bot accept those and include them in its index, or would I be better to move those archives back to my talk page and delete the archive pages before running the bot? dramatic (talk) 22:17, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

You can just move them to "/Archive 1", etc. Or to "/Archive 2007", etc., if you want them named by year.

Wikipedia talk:WikiCup/Archive/2011/11

The bot has been archiving threads from Wikipedia talk:WikiCup to Wikipedia talk:WikiCup/Archive/2011/11. However, that archive number was an error, as this is only the first archive for 2011. Consequently, I've moved the archive to Wikipedia talk:WikiCup/Archive/2011/1. If the bot needs to know this, please make sure it is so informed. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:20, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, I fixed the config of the MiszaBot archive so that the archives will automatically go to the 2011/1 archive instead of the incorrect 2011/11 archive. The reason for this was the config at the top of the Wikipedia talk:WikiCup page had the counter at 11 instead of having it reset to 1. I corrected this. If you feel this is in error, feel free to revert. Take care! -Pparazorback (talk) 20:03, 20 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Header reformat

Is reformatting headers e.g. ==X== to == X == part of the MiszaBot design or accidental side effect? Gerardw (talk) 12:00, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Miszabot III

Hi Misza -

Your bot - how can I tell if it is archiving my talk page? Is there a list of pages it archives somewhere? I put the code onto my talk page but nothing seems to have happened...

Please get back.

Thanks --RCSprinter123 (talk) 12:42, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Give it another day. The bot runs on a page at about the same time each day. You'll know it's working when you notice that sections are disappearing from the page; look at the page history, and it'll show the bot's edits.
—WWoods (talk) 18:13, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Your configuration of the archive number was incorrect. I fixed it on your userpage, thus the bot should correctly archive your pages when it runs sometime tomorrow morning. -Pparazorback (talk) 23:34, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
