License tagging for File:ASBA logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:ASBA logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:07, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:ASBA_logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:ASBA_logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 10:32, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on your article

edit

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia, Mary Helen! I saw your request for a peer review so am leaving some feedback here.

Looks like you've put loads of work into your article, there's a lot of information there. :) My feedback is mainly about how to make it fit wikipedia guidelines.

The most important thing that the article needs is more references from reliable, independant sources which discuss ASBA, eg. newspapers, magazines, trade journals (not just the organisation's own website). This is needed to prove the notability of the subject, so it doesn't get deleted (unfortunately wikipedia can't store information on every organisation in the whole world). Have a look at the relevant guideline, Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies).

I've made a few minor formatting changes to the lead section, changing the links to other wikipedia articles to our "wikilink" format. You can see what I changed by clicking the history tab at the top of the page. Links to external websites, like the US professional tennis association, need to be removed from the main text, and if particularly relevant go in an "External links" section at the end- this rule is partly to stop readers getting whisked away to other websites and partly to prevent websites advertising here by adding their links to wikipedia articles.

In my opinion in a some places the details don't seem encyclopedic, for example a lot the paragraph about the website is overly detailed and might be viewed as advertising. Similarly, "Like its predecessor, the book was well-received by both technical and non-technical readers, and continues to be sold by both the USTA and ASBA" might be seen as advertising too. Try to aim for a detached, encyclopedic article, and if there are any criticisms of the organisation, those should be included too.

Best of luck, if you need any help, you can contact me at my talk page (by clicking on "talk" in my signature), or ask at WP:Help desk. Thanks for all your work so far. --Physics is all gnomes (talk) 23:29, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Mhsprecher/sandbox

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Mhsprecher/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.tennisoncampus.com/Page149.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
