Speedy deletion nomination of User:Gunit31/Foreign language testing

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Gunit31/Foreign language testing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Vertical thinking vs. Lateral thinking

edit

The article Vertical thinking vs. Lateral thinking has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Personal essay, almost completely unsourced and much original research with heavy use of WP:Synthesis per WP:No original research. What's left when you remove the essay and reflection is already covered in lateral thinking.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Vertical thinking vs. Lateral thinking for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Vertical thinking vs. Lateral thinking is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vertical thinking vs. Lateral thinking until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Gurt Posh (talk) 16:23, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Software crisis

Please see Talk:Software crisis concerning the section I removed from the article as a copyright violation. There are some guidelines there that you really need to take on board. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 13:46, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please be careful when encouraging students to add to the contents of articles, especially when it's phrased quite so bluntly as, "Your article seems to be really short and incomplete."

This article was until recently a lot longer, and it had images. These were removed (quite rightly!) by other non-IEP editors because the content was rife with copyright violations. These are not acceptable on Wikipedia. They are still not acceptable even when they're student coursework for IEP. I would hope that you're familiar with the recent disruptions caused to WP by IEP over this sort of issue, and with this course in particular.

It would be good to have a longer and more detailed article. However this cannot be done by ignoring copyright, no matter what the course's previous attitude to copyright might have been. It's important that students understand this and CAs have an important role in explaining this to them. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:41, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for my mistake. I acknowledge where I went wrong. I will definitely be careful in future.Gunit31 (talk) 14:15, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Variator (variable valve timing)

edit

The three things that are labelled are

  1. Incoming links - there are actually several, but it would be worth checking if some of those to Variator should in fact be to this article.
  2. Citations - specifically those items labelled "Citation needed".
  3. Clean up - I'm not sure specifically what needs cleaning.

The other matter of note is the lack of any coverage of the "Other variator-based VVT systems".

Rich Farmbrough, 17:56, 25 October 2011 (UTC).Reply

Thank You. I am not a subject matter expert. So i guess all I can do is just add inline citations. I'l try to work with incoming links.Gunit31 (talk) 07:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi!

I noticed that you had posted the following on a talk page I watch:

"I really want to help improve the article but I cannot figure out how I can do so. The talk page of the article is blank and hence there is no other place where I could leave a message for help."

If an article has a blank talk page, you are free to create one. Just click the "New Section" link at the top. The article talk page is the correct place to discuss improving the article, so go ahead and post your ideas about improving the article there.

BTW, if you need help, there is no need to go looking for a userpage to post your help request on. All you have to do is to type {{helpme}} on your own talk page, and someone will show up to answer your questions. Guy Macon (talk) 18:57, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank You. Will definitely use the talk page next time.Gunit31 (talk) 07:02, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
