Who is a Jew? again.

edit

This is simply the absolute last warning about your disruptive use of talk pages. After this I will seek administrative recourse. Do NOT interrupt other editors' comments. It allows you to recast sections in a different light by interupting a longer point and responding to each as if that were in itself an entire concept expressed. Your interruptions, and that is exactly what they are, no different than conversation, are rude and disruptive to the discourse. Simply put, stop doing it. I am not the only editor warning you about this. ThuranX 00:18, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes,I was warned you were trying to get rid of me. And no, you are the only one saying this - as the last time you claimed you were "not the only one telling me something." Gee, I suppose I should look into having an administrator look at how you keep lying about me, outright.
If you do get an administrator asking questions, you can ask me for a reference as a neutral observer. I think ThuranX is confusing you with Bus Stop!
It's quite right that you should insert your comments at the end of a section, rather than immediately after the remark that prompts them, but this is a minor matter (And I notice that ThuranX himself has been guilty of it too!). All the best. --Sir Myles na Gopaleen (the da) 09:30, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did notice the first time I did it that I messed up the page (& got confused *myself* as to how to restore it) - so that's why I kept transposing people's signatures when I did it the next time; I answer that way because I like to answer one issue at a time - definitely not to mess anything up. But if that's really the way to go, I will adjust. Thank you very much for your kindness, and no,it's no surprise that he's done it, too - I hadn't paid attention to it, myself.FlaviaR 15:40, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am writing this to you because you have edited articles on Jewish subjects in the past. There is currently an RfC on the talk page of this article [1].

You can view the difference between the contending versions of the article here: [2].

The page is currently protected from editing for 5 days, but the end result of the article depends on what consensus, if any, is reached during those 5 days. Please help with this RfC. -LisaLiel (talk) 22:09, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I received a strange, unsigned message seeming for "jews" to the effect that "the wikipedia is closed until jan31!if you try to enter you will be blocked by me!remind them all!" JosΓ©phine de Beauharnais

edit

Your comment: ***Someone mispslled her name!!!***

Beauharnai sans final *s*. My GodΒ ! That was not a mistake but, obviously, what is commonly known as a *typo* (mine). Merci pour la correction, mais pas nΓ©cessaire d'en faire tout un fromage! Frania W. (talk) 22:27, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

First off, a typo is a mistake - that's the very nature of a typo, that it is a mistake. Secondly, a typo that ends up in misspelling someone's name is a misspelling; it just wasn't intentional or done out of ignorance - & I never attributed any sort of reason for it; we do, however, have to put in a reason why we've edited a page. The only one making a cheese, as you put it colloquially, is you. I am very sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you inferred an insult; none was written, or even intended. I'm contacting you because I wanted to talk to you about your 'monarchist' userbox. We can talk back and forth, edit my user talk page here I am just curious about the different reasons people identify as monarchists! BMSprint (talk) 20:26, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Hey, terrific! In short, I am a monarchist because I think the human condition still demands it (I am going to put this on your page as well, because I don't know if you get notified of stuff that goes onto my page!)
  • Sorry for taking so long in responding, I don't often log into Wikipedia. That is an abstract way of looking at it for sure, and I disagree with you somewhat; to me it seems like every President we elect winds up being hated no matter what he does. People are unsatisfied with their lives no matter what and blame the government and the President in particular. Everyone who isn't as rich as they want to be say the economy sucks and blame the President. Each president starts with ratings of over 50% and slowly but surely it dwindles because people here want to see the negative more than they see the positive. I like true monarchy, as in, we don't vote for who is the monarch. BMSprint (talk) 16:47, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2012 bid, DC chapter & next meetup!

  1. At WikiXDC in January, User:Harej proposed that DC submit a bid to host Wikimania 2012. A bid and organizing committee is being formed and seeks additional volunteers to help. Please look at our bid page and sign up if you want to help out. You can also signup for the bid team's email list.
  2. To support the Wikimania bid, more events like WikiXDC, and outreach activities like collaborations with the Smithsonian (ongoing) and National Archives, there also has been discussion of forming Wikimedia DC, as an official Wikimedia chapter. You can express interest and contribute to chapter discussions on the Wikimedia DC Meta-Wiki pages.
  3. To discuss all this and meet up with special guest, Dutch Wikipedian User:Kim Bruning, there will be a meetup, Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 16 this Tuesday at 7pm, at Capitol City Brewery, Metro Center. There will be a pre-meetup Wikimania team meeting at 6pm at the same location.

Apologies for the short notice for this meetup, but let's discuss when, where & what for DC Meetup #17. Also, if you haven't yet, please join wikimedia-dc mailing list to stay informed. Cheers, User:Aude (talk)
