Welcome!

Hello, Chos3nl3gacy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to The Dreamer (2023 film) does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

Hi Chos3nl3gacy! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of The Dreamer (2023 film) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:The Dreamer (2023 film), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 04:48, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:17, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Chos3nl3gacy. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Chos3nl3gacy. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Chos3nl3gacy|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:20, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please accept my apologies for any unintended impact my edits may have caused to the stakeholders involved with this page. As a college student working on a homework assignment, I aimed to provide additional information to enhance a stub. The Wikipedia interface proved quite challenging to navigate, requiring me to consult several tabs.
I assure you that I intended no harm to the page. Furthermore, I am not endorsed by Dave Chappelle, nor do we have any personal connection. Moving forward, I will continue my edits in the sandbox and refrain from making further changes to the page to avoid interfering with any paid services associated with it.
Thank you for your understanding. I am just a fan of the show. Chos3nl3gacy (talk) 20:32, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind, I see i am blocked from editing on the page. Thank for considering my submission at some point of this misunderstood situation. Have a great day. Chos3nl3gacy (talk) 21:16, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Chos3nl3gacy, thank you very much for the clarification. Regarding payments, I think my message may have caused a misunderstanding: Wikipedia is a volunteer community. We generally dislike paid editing, discourage it (WP:COI) and require disclosures where it happens (WP:PAID). The issue with your contributions wasn't that they affected any paid work we'd value (we generally don't, and there was none I'm aware of). The issue was that your contributions were so promotional that they had to stop and made it seem as if you're receiving money for doing this.
When the block expires, the only real advice I can provide is to please avoid topics you are a fan of, as being a fan apparently has an extremely negative influence on your neutrality. Which is fine, as long as you don't edit about them. The Task Center and the community portal provide more helpful ideas for improving the encyclopedia.
Thanks for your understanding and best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:15, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
