Draftification of Michel Shamil Orloff

edit

Hello! I wanted to let you know that you draftified this page, right after it was moved out of draftspace by myself. Because it started out as a draft which got moved, I believe this would be considered an objection in line with WP:DRAFTOBJECT? I can agree to disagree, but ain any case different venue may be necessary now that the page has gone back and forth in draftspace, namely RM or AfD if its needed.

To be clear, I was on the fence for the other one that you re-draftified (Nicolas Henchoz) and would let that one go, but if you feel the Orloff entry to be controversal because there was a (declared) CoI editor then I would recommend you take it to AfD (and, as a courtesy, notify reviewers as to why you would disagree so much with their choices). Kind regards, Superboilles (talk) 19:43, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Superboilles: Yes, that is a valid objection and it probably shouldn't've been draftified again, although sometimes I do anyways in case the creator wants to try improving it some more before it is deleted. I probably just didn't get the WP:MTD notice about previous draftification this time. If you do object to draftification I will take this to AfD because I cannot see any sign of notability per WP:BASIC and no WP:SNGs apply here. I might even go as far as to say this qualifies for WP:A7 speedy deletion. A Google search only returns his Linkedin and a Google News search returns literally nothing. Is there something I'm missing as to why he's notable?
I could be wrong, but the only other reviewer to review this page also draftified it. Let me know if I am and I will ping them. Happy editing — C F A 💬 20:49, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Superboilles: I've listed this at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michel Shamil Orloff. Feel free to add your reasoning for notability there. C F A 💬 15:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm new here. I blanked your userpage with the intent of instantly restoring it, but it seems some sort of filter is preventing me from doing so. Sorry, my bad. I spend my days eating cheese (talk) 02:30, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Responding to Clearfrienda

edit

I'm brand new at this and don't know how it all works. I was reading my son's Wikipedia and noticed a lot of missing information so I decided to update it.I'm only editing my son Ty Kelly's Wikipedia. Everything I've added is from published stats or our family's memories. What do I need to do to get it published on the site? SweetKell (talk) 21:44, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@SweetKell: First of all, welcome to Wikipedia! I hope to see you around in the future. Your edits were reverted because they were unsourced. On Wikipedia, all information has to be verifiable through a reliable source. This is especially true on biographies of living people, where unsourced information can potentially be libelous. This means, in this case, making sure to include inline citations that accompany & verify the added information. You can see how to do this at Help:Referencing for beginners. If there isn't a reliable source that states the information then it cannot be included.
Since Ty Kelly is your son, you also have to declare a conflict of interest — please read the page at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I would advise not editing articles about subjects you're closely connected to, but as long as you disclose your COI you are allowed to. Consider also using the {{edit COI}} template on the article's talk page or posting a note to the COI noticeboard so your edits can be peer-reviewed first.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. Happy editing! C F A 💬 22:01, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
so basically everything I added is erased? Bummer! Hard to source GPA's, Bilingual ability, dad's coaching years, Family move, etc, unless you come visit and we can show you our family records, Ty's school records, MLB.com, scrapbook, etc
Thought what I added was pretty harmless but I guess not. SweetKell (talk) 22:32, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@SweetKell: No, don't worry, your contributions have not been erased. They have been archived in the page history and you can view, change or restore them to the current version at any time. I'm not saying your contributions were harmful, but they were unsourced. Verifiability is one of Wikipedia's core content policies. If you find sources for any of the information you added, feel free to restore it at any time (assuming you've declared your COI). I'd be happy to help restore information once you find sources for it. C F A 💬 22:43, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Where to request history merge?

edit

Hi, I saw you reply to messages at WP:RMTM and thought you might be knowledgeable in how/where to request for article histories to be merged. The article at René Ressejac-Duparc was created a few months ago; the now-redirect at R. Duparc was created in 2009 and contained (most of) the article content currently at René Ressejac-Duparc, before being AfD'd and turned into a redirect in 2022. The recreated article (at René Ressejac-Duparc) is legit, but obviously does not preserve the article history of over a decade. Now, there have been additions and editing at this new article, too, which should presumably also be preserved. Is it possible to merge the histories, or would it be simpler/acceptable to copy-paste the content at the new article to the old title (and then most likely move this to the new article name after a delete-for-move)? Kingsif (talk) 01:29, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kingsif: Yes, it is possible to merge article histories. I assume a copy-and-paste move from R. Duparc to René Ressejac-Duparc occurred, and in that case a history merge does sound appropriate. You can tag it for history merging by adding {{History merge|R. Duparc|reason=REASON|details=DETAILS}} to René Ressejac-Duparc (see tagging instructions). I haven't looked at this case in detail, but if it's complex you can file a request at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge instead. Hope this helps, C F A 💬 02:03, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Chris MS Dawngkima (17:51, 26 June 2024)

edit

Hello... I want to write biography. How can i do it --Chris MS Dawngkima (talk) 17:51, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, Chris MS Dawngkima! To write a biography, you can use the Article Wizard which will guide you through the process of creating an article. Before writing your article, consider checking to see if the subject meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines, which will determine if the subject is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Make sure to cite your sources so all information can be verified, especially if the biography is of a living person. I'd be happy to help. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy editing! Talk Pages

edit

Hi, thank you for your message. I was not previously aware.

Please forgive my ignorance, because in fact I don’t think I’ve ever set up a talk page, and was not ever sure if it was something I should be doing, or had to be done by someone with certain access/rights etc? (If I should, I will from now on) Hildreth gazzard (talk) 19:35, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Hildreth gazzard: Thank you for the quick response. You don't have to set up talk pages on articles you create, but it makes it easier for other editors. Especially since you've just written the article so you'd know which WikiProjects to add better than anyone else. All biographies are required to have living parameters — they will be added eventually whether you add them or not, but adding them yourself as you go stops the backlog category from becoming too large. And no, no special rights are needed. Happy editing, and hope to see you around! C F A 💬 22:06, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Excellent, thank you. I’ve done this today for Sarah Moraa and Xena Ngomateke. If you find the time to check please let me know if they’re done incorrectly Hildreth gazzard (talk) 09:29, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hildreth gazzard: Looks good, but you added an unnecessary "yes" after the 1= parameter. This parameter should just be left blank, like this:
{{WikiProject banner shell|blp=yes|1=
{{WikiProject Biography}}
{{WikiProject Athletics}}
}}
Thanks! C F A 💬 15:55, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from NaturalTourism (02:25, 27 June 2024)

edit

Hello I would like to give detailed information on my village (Vanjari, Mianwali), but I can not do it all at once. I can only see one paragraph added to the relevant page; the others are vanished. --NaturalTourism (talk) 02:25, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@NaturalTourism: Welcome to Wikipedia! As to your question, do you mean these changes where a few paragraphs was removed from Vanjari, Punjab? Unfortunately if the paragraphs were removed before you published your changes, there's not much I can do. If those were the edits you're referring to, I've included the removed content below so you can re-add it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy editing!
It holds the distinction of being the last village in Punjab to the west, where it borders the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This strategic location places Vanjari at the intersection of two culturally rich and diverse regions. The village is nestled in a mountainous area that serves as a natural boundary between the two provinces, offering a picturesque backdrop and a distinct geographical identity. The rugged terrain of these mountains not only shapes the landscape but also influences the lifestyle and activities of the villagers
The yillage’s commitment to peace, community welfare, and sustainable development serves as a model for other rural areas in the region. Vanjari’s emphasis on collective action, mutual respect, and cultural harmony highlights the potential for rural communities to thrive through cooperation and solidarity. Its example underscores the importance of maintaining traditional values while embracing opportunities for growth and development in a rapidly changing world.

I am sending you complete paragraph details but can't. I think there is words limit here. NaturalTourism (talk) 03:27, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Shadow Generations

edit

Hi. Can you revert your move of Shadow Generations? As the article mentions, Sonic X Shadow Generations is the full product title. The article is only about the new game, Shadow Generations. The article makes this clear, so the move was incorrect and should be discussed. JOEBRO64 12:27, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@TheJoebro64: I've reverted the move as undiscussed. Pinging MSMST1543 — if you still support this move, you'll have to start a WP:RM. In the future, please do not use WP:RMT to request moves that could potentially be controversial. C F A 💬 13:53, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draftifying Draft:Pal, Mahendragarh

edit

Hi, CFA! I just wanted to share a friendly reminder that articles with a contested draftication should not be re-draftified. That is, if a page is moved from the main space to the draft space, then republished to main space, it should not be moved back into the draft space (WP:DRAFTOBJECT).

Additionally, articles should not be moved into the draftspace if another editor has made constructive edits within the previous hour (WP:NPPHOUR). Within five minutes before you draftified, I had made a constructive edit and was actively working on improving the page when it was draftified, which makes publishing it back in the main space a bit more complicated.

I know I've certainly made many mistakes forgetting to check the page history before draftifying, so no judgment. I just wanted to remind you. :) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 16:37, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Significa liberdade: Thank you for the reminder. WP:MTD used to stop me from draftifying pages that were not eligible but I guess it doesn't do that anymore. I'll start checking the page history first from now on. C F A 💬 16:48, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unreliable sources at Honeymind (Ben Platt album)

edit

Saw your addition, thank you for flagging. Can you clarify what reliable sources I should be adding instead? I thought I cited things properly, but I appreciate learning about the process more, thanks. Sleepy panda15 (talk) 16:55, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Sleepy panda15: The last four Broadway World sources are all considered unreliable. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#BroadwayWorld. I would recommend replacing them with other sources that can back up the information, especially considering the article involves living people. Happy editing! C F A 💬 17:31, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
