Contested deletion

edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because...

Since the creation of this profile, I have tried to follow all the Wikipedia guidelines concerning conflict of interest, having declared my COI on the talk page and making a notification on COIN, on my talk page. I have not made any direct edits to the original University Canada West article and have tried to work with the community to address the issues which currently exist within the article. This userspace page has been created as a draft version of potential new sections which could be added to the original University Canada West article (pending consensus) and I have invited more experienced editors to provide me with feedback - which so far has not happened as I thought it would.

This draft is concerning a Wikipedia article about a university and I strongly believe that, as most university-related articles, a History and Academic Activity section would be very appropriate in this case. The original article lacks important information about UCW’s history, current ownership structure and academic activities and I have tried to address those in this draft. The original article may also have a number of issues related to original research which I would like to address in the future. Despite the scarce number of reliable sources available online, I have tried to be as accurate, factual and neutral as possible in this draft.

As I have declared, my goal is to help the community to build a more accurate and neutral article about UCW. I understand that my draft might not be in the perfect format yet – but I believe deleting it will not contribute to a healthy, sustainable debate. The idea is to discuss the points and reach a consensus - I have asked several times for feedback, as you can see here. Deleting it will simply take the whole discussion back to square one.

I fully respect the feedback from the Wikipedia community and I am willing and prepared to make all the amendments that more experienced editors may find necessary. But before deleting it, I would just like to receive an honest and neutral feedback from experienced editors on the content that I am proposing in this draft.

Many thanks for your support and understanding
