Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited George James Snelus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lime (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

lang= parameter on Images?

edit

I'm just curious about your changes [1] [2] [3] to add a lang= parameter on image links, e.g. [[File:Zinc world production.svg|thumb|lang=en|World production trend]].

As far as I'm aware, MediaWiki doesn't have any such parameter. Andy Dingley (talk) 22:50, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Andy Dingley. I changed the programmation of this SVG (and other) by using the systemLanguage parameter, to allow it to be in english, french or german (I don't know more languages). Because of it was before in english, you don't notice any change, but in the two other languages, the image appears translated!
I added the |lang=en in english wikipedia just in case if someone changes the file to add other languages. It is not mandatory because the default language I set in the file is english. Borvan53 (talk) 23:01, 1 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Nomination of File:Mu-metal cable.svg for deletion

edit

I have tagged File:Mu-metal cable.svg with {{Now commons}} because it is the same resolution as the Commons file but inelligible for CSD-F8 because it does have {{KeepLocal}} in place. Thank you.--John Cline (talk) 16:20, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I think this file can be suppressed. Keeping a multi-language SVG in the English wiki has no sense. Borvan53 (talk) 18:02, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the thanks

At Josiah Marshall Heath. Feel free to improve it (I will having not seen it after a few months) because on my first French translation it is always somewhat rough around the edges. Not because of the words but because of the sense, one still thinks in French a bit as one translates (my native language is English). Si Trew (talk) 20:05, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Do you think you could update File:Steel production and GPD per capita.svg?

Over four years have passed, and new data for South Korea and China would be beneficial for the chart 5.178.188.143 (talk) 11:47, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

For sure, any update is useful. But where can I find the data ? Borvan53 (talk) 12:01, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Same sources you used back in 2019? You listed "The Conference Board, Total Economy Database, World Steel Association" 5.178.188.143 (talk) 21:45, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I checked, no updated version of the graphic has been done... To update, I will need to calculate the figures... Borvan53 (talk) 22:35, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
