Please justify your edits

edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Rabbit, Run

edit

Hello, I noticed that you've in the past taken interest in John Updike's Rabbit series, and also contributed to the articles before. I thought I would bring to your attention the fact that Rabbit, Run is a collaboration candidate at WP Novels. The article is sadly in need of work and responsible editors. If you agree, and especially if you feel you can contribute, please take a look and consider signing the article's entry at WP Novels. Thanks! Speculation

edit

If you really feel strongly about inclusion of "effects" at Midway, post a notice here & here. I've raised the issue of a possible "effects" page for other pages; maybe you can drum up support for a fork-out for Midway, Pearl, TORCH, AVALANCHE, & elsewhere. TREKphiler 04:12, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
