Help needed

edit

Hi Abronkeeler, in your comment on Townsend, you refered to its past edits. I have tried to find editors who might be in favor of keeping it to bring them in for a decision, but am having a bad time since most past editors were not logged in. You may have noticed that the discussion page is getting long and full of biased statements. Can you help me bring any editors in favor of keeping to the discussion. It is obvious that if we let it there, the article will suffer from deletions and reverts, uncivil discussions etc. Please, let me know your opinion about the current situation. I would appreciate any help. Hoverfish 09:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

On Meher Baba edits

edit

Maybe you do love Wikipedia, but you know sweet all about Baba it seems. I reverted your vandalism. Its referenced now too, and if you are into references, as you imply, you will notice that the article in question has no proper Refences Page. So it makes no sense to say my stuff had no references. if you had been reading the discussion you would have noticed its a work in progress. So lover boy why dont you add something positive and start a proper reference page, try the Harvard system. --Liam7 04:33, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for cleanup

edit

Special thanks for removing that Avatar Center link. I just saw its contents! Hoverfish Talk 23:06, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Hoverfish. I think Nemonoman may be right about the other site I removed, however. "Shehariarji" it seems may in fact be an alt version of the spelling. And his point of it being non-partisan is good too. The other did not fit at all as you saw. Abronkeeler 13:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Francis Brabazon.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Francis Brabazon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 06:15, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated

edit

Hello there, I am a fellow member of Wikiproject jazz. I was wondering, if you had a moment to spare, if you would be willing to give your opinion on a matter at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 15 concerning a category I created. The category is [[Category:Jazz musicians of New Orleans]], and it has been proposed that the article be merged with Musicians of New Orleans and American jazz musicians. This is precisely why I created the category, because it seemed to me the birthplace of jazz music and continous modern symbol of jazz certainly deserves a category unto itself. Regardless of your opinion, I would greatly appreciate your input there so as to have a discussion over the matter. Thanks. (Mind meal 03:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC))Reply

I definitely agree with you. The birthplace of jazz certainly does deserve a category of its own. Abronkeeler 15:26, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Modern Creative

edit

If the given definition is correct, Irene Schweizer can not be classified as a modern creative player. All Music Guide has the following definition: "Continuing the tradition of the '50s to '60s free-jazz mode, Modern Creative musicians may incorporate free playing into structured modes — or play just about anything." According to this definition Schweizer is a proponent of modern creative.--Engelbaet 13:21, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I get your point and broadened the definition using that quote. Abronkeeler 13:44, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good improvement. Thanks a lot.--Engelbaet 06:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Modern Creative

edit

I have nominated Modern Creative, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Modern Creative. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Gyrofrog (talk) 04:16, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
