Please stop. Your recent edits are being reverted because the format you are using is incorrect and the addition of "see also" links is not appropriate within the article text. Vsmith (talk) 01:45, 17 May 2015 (UTC).Reply

Hello Vsmith, thanks for the welcome message, giving useful links to beginners and being helpful. I did not realize that the link formatting was incorrect, thanks for explaining about it. Now, I have added correct formatting for wiki links & other web links and added "See also" links at the end of the article. Just recently, I got around to exploring Wikipedia's messaging system, so the thanks is very belated. Thanks once again, 2know4power (talk) 19:35, 8 October 2015 (UTC).Reply

Hello, I'm Srich32977. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Southern California, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – S. Rich (talk) 04:58, 17 May 2015 (UTC).Reply

Hello Srich32977, thank you very much for being kind, by giving useful links to beginners and being helpful. I have re-added that edit to the article: Southern California, the edit is now with citation from USGS, the edit is here. Just recently, I got around to exploring Wikipedia's messaging system, so the thanks is very belated. Thanks once again, 2know4power (talk) 19:23, 8 October 2015 (UTC).Reply

Regarding map legend

edit

Hello, could you please tell what was priorly incorrect about those map legends? Just so that we know. Btw, make sure the new maps demarcate the exact same territory the previous maps did, as I believe some of the new ones are accidentally adjusted a little very tiny bit, I think. ;-) Thanks for your efforts. Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 20:32, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello LouisAragon, it is given at file's wikimedia commons talk page here and nominate for deletion here.Thanks. 2know4power (talk) 20:39, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Btw, what about the other thing I mentioned? The tiny adjustments? Could you fix that later as well so that they demarcate the exact same area? :-) Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 20:55, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hello LouisAragon, this image India Koppen map shows South Asia & has correct map legend attached. It is cropped from same image source as NorthIndiaClimateKoppen.png. My graphics ability is limited to beginner capabilities like cropping & attaching captions. Thanks, 2know4power (talk) 21:15, 18 November 2015 (UTC).Reply

@2know4power:; I mean, a bit less on both the east and west, as that was added by you accidentally. See the original map. If you look at the original maps, they are a bit more precisely "cut". That's all. If you happen to have time and possess of the skills to fix it ofc :-) Bests - LouisAragon (talk) 21:19, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your work on Indian climate maps. Could I just point out for future reference that links to other Wikipedia articles are normally made using "Wikilinks", not external links. Thus:

To link to the Climate of India article, input [[Climate of India]], which is seen as "Climate of India" in the text.

Hello Noyster, Thanks for your kind words & helpful tips. It now stands corrected. I misapplied it there, it was supposed to go elsewhere.(I was trying to figure out something, will try & find out a way for it). Thanks once again. By, User 2know4power (talk) 05:14, 20 November 2015 (UTC).Reply

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. UCERF3 Categories

edit

Hi. Are you still active? If so, talk with me, I would like to consult regarding suitable Categories for the the UCERF3 images we each have uploaded to Commons. ~ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 02:00, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello J. Johnson (JJ), Thanks a lot for the great work you do for Wikipedia (articles, pages created), especially the Geology articles. I was unavailable at WP & sorry for the belated reply. Regarding the UCERF3 fact sheet(6 pages), it has easily understandable information. So, may be it can stay as per 'Commons scope'. Thanks, by User 2know4power (talk) 04:26, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. And thanks for the barnstar (!!). I was wondering if I had done something good recently.   ~ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 20:30, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the pie!

edit

Thanks for the encouragement and the pie, not to mention the informative comments on Ramanuja. I was wondering if you had any interest in lending a critical eye to the hatha yoga page. As you can see from the talk and edit history pages, my attempts to fix some problems there have been stymied. If you had any opinions about restoring the Matsyendra and Natha related aspects of the page, or any other clean up, I would love to hear them. Cheers. Iṣṭa Devatā (talk) 22:18, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Iṣṭa Devatā , thanks for your comments here. As for articles about Yoga, I am only at Wikipedia reader level. Page analysis tools show other contributors, who are knowledgeable about the subject. May be a neutral look from them will be a great idea. If you could spare some time, may be you could kindly take a look at audio files for pronunciation (Hindi vs Sanskrit), and add your comments. Thanks by user 2know4power (talk) 02:08, 4 February 2017 (UTC).Reply
Righto. Any chance you could show me how to use page analysis tools to find these people? Iṣṭa Devatā (talk) 20:30, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hello Iṣṭa Devatā , after logging-in, at the top right side of pages, there is a tool bar, next to page editing history, ('MoreMenu' page analysis tool is an additional gadget available for download from preferences, appearance, MoreMenu), there is 'page', click it to see dropdown menu containing 'anlaysis' then 'wikihistory'. It gives contributors list. Thanks, by contributor 2know4power (talk) 21:23, 6 February 2017 (UTC).Reply
Thanks Iṣṭa Devatā for your helpful suggestions at audio files for pronunciation (Hindi vs Sanskrit). Here is the list of available tools at Wikipedia:Tools, may be you will find it useful. Thanks, by contributor 2know4power (talk) 23:06, 8 February 2017 (UTC).Reply

Tamil Language edits

I have undid them because they are causing some problems i dont know how to fix it but i undid it in order to fix the issue in Google Chrome Flow 234 (Nina) talk 12:04, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
I was going to make a similar reversion myself. I appreciate your desire to have more accurate transliterations, but I think in this particular case your edits violate Wikipedia policy, in particular MOS:DIACRITICS ("if there is a common English form of the name […] use that form instead"), MOS:PN ("Wikipedia normally retains […] special characters, except where there is a well-established English spelling that replaces them with English standard letters"), and MOS:FOREIGNITALIC ("A proper name is usually not italicized when it is used"). If you disagree it would probably be best to raise the issue in project space. IgnorantArmies (talk) 12:10, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Naming the correct script type

edit

copied to and now continued at Talk:Tamil_language#Naming_the_correct_script_type, by user 2know4power (talk) 06:13, 21 February 2017 (UTC). Hi 2know4power,Reply

I have corrected a few incorrect edits of yours recently, and I would like to advise you to please check your sources and ensure that the information you add is correct. To me, as someone who can read multiple modern & historical South Indian scripts, I can tell apart Grantha, Vatteluttu, and Tamil, but there is a lot of misinformation out there, and you have to make sure that you grab information from reliable sources. The scripts are not the same/interchangeable. If you don't know whether something is in Grantha script or Tamil script or Vatteluttu script, it's better not to add anything than to add incorrect information. Or even better is to ask a member of the community who is knowledgeable, either through their talk page or through the page's talk page. I would appreciate you taking these steps in the future so as to reduce misinformation on any of these pages, even if you have the best & noblest interests at hand when you contribute edits. Thank you! Subbupedia95 (talk) 05:25, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello Subbupedia95, thanks for your contributions and good advice. They were good faith edits and I do not know to read those scripts. I went by the title for this image palm leaf manuscript. The file is used in many projects, so may be changing the filename is not a good option. So, I added in file description at Commons. Thanjavur inscription image is at article Grantha script. Thanks for your edit Grantha or Vattellutu. If you could kindly spare your time, could you please take a look at relevant commons category itself & may be change them at source at commons itself to stop the unintentional misinformation from contaminating more articles. Thanks in advance for your help, 2know4power (talk) 05:59, 21 February 2017 (UTC).Reply
It's ok! I know; I would have marked them as good faith edits, actually, but I don't know how to. I'll fix the source when I get a chance; thanks for letting me know. Subbupedia95 (talk) 04:40, 22 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Subramanya Bharathi with wife Chellamma.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Replaceable fair use File:Kandha kottam temple gopuram gateway tower - Copy.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Kandha kottam temple gopuram gateway tower - Copy.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jumpytoo Talk 02:39, 29 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
