Current composition of the People's Representative Council (DPR)
The meeting place of the People's Representative Council, located in the parliamentary complex

The People's Representative Council of Indonesia is the lower house of the People's Consultative Assembly, the legislative branch of the Indonesian government. As of November 2021, there are 575 seats, consisting of 9 different political parties, each representing an electoral district. The leader of the DPR is the Speaker, a position which is currently held by Puan Maharani, the daughter of former president Megawati Sukarnoputri. In addition, the speaker is joined with four deputy speakers, namely Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Rachmad Gobel, and Muhaimin Iskandar.[1]

Members of the DPR are known as representatives, and are elected through a general election, once every five years. The last general election was held in 2019. Each representative is appointed to a commission, which is akin to the standing committee of the United States Congress, of which there are currently 11 commissions. A representative has the right to submit proposals and opinions; to vote and be elected; to self-defense; to Legal immunity; to propose and fight for development; and to socialize the law.[2]

A representative is also tasked with upholding and practicing the state ideology of Pancasila; implement and comply with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia; maintain national harmony and the integrity of the state; put national interests over personal interests; fight for the improvement of people's welfare; comply with the principles of democracy; and provide moral and political accountability to their constituents.[2] The following is a complete list of all 575 currently serving representatives of the DPR, following the results of the 2019 Indonesian general election.[3]
