Reginald "Reggie" Laryea (born February 26, 1998) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a defender.
Career
editYouth
editLaryea played youth soccer for Sigma FC[1] and played high school soccer for Dante Alighieri Academy.[2]
College career
editConsidered a four-star recruit, he was rated as the No. 7 international recruit and the 12th-best midfielder in the 2016 class.[3] He decided to join the University of Akron and joined the Zips soccer program.[4] He played there for two seasons, scoring his first goal against [5]
In 2019, he returned to Canada to attend York University and play for the Lions,[6] where he mostly played as a right-sided centre back.[7] He was named an OUA West first-team all-star, helping the team to win an OUA silver medal and finishing fifth at the U SPORTS championship.[2]
Career
editLaryea played in League1 Ontario for Sigma FC from 2015 to 2019.[8]
At the 2021 CPL-U Sports Draft, Laryea was selected 15th overall by Atlético Ottawa of the Canadian Premier League.[9][10]
Personal
editLaryea is the younger brother of Toronto FC defender Richie Laryea.[11]
International Career
editLaryea was called up to the Canadian national U15 for a camp in 2013.[12] He was called up to the Canadian U20 team camp in 2015.[13]
