A birth film is a type of film that depicts childbirth.[1]

Many artistic birth films, considered underground and experimental in the 20th century, were connected to and inspired by feminism and the sexual revolution, and attempted to reveal privacy and taboo about childbirth to a wider audience.[2] Stan Brakhage's Window Water Baby Moving and Thigh Line Lyre Triangular are notable examples of this.[1][2]
