Hello Wikipedians. This is my Sandbox where I am currently working on a new article tentatively named 'List of lattice truss bridges in the United Kingdom', which you can now view below. Please add as many of your thoughts as you like on the talk page, as I am having considerable difficulty in rationalising some aspects of this article. However, I believe it will be a useful list, and will act as a sort of snapshot summary for comparison purposes of a range of a particular type of bridge which was common in the UK in the late 19th century.

List of lattice truss bridges in the United Kingdom

edit

The distinction between a 'lattice girder' and a 'lattice truss' is blurred, and usage varies over time and location. However, there has been a tendency towards using 'lattice girder' for composite structural components, and 'lattice truss' for a total structure such as a bridge or bridge span. 'Truss' also tends to reflect US usage, whereas the technically more restrictive term 'girder' has been more common in the UK.

Thus, despite the title of this list, most of the rail bridges below have been generally described as 'lattice girders'.
