Lurker's Guide and "definitive reference"

edit

Since an anonymous editor has seen fit to remove items from the page, here are the citations: Regarding JMS's use of the guide: Source here

Regarding the comment as "essential reference as seen by fans", citations here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and that's just for starters... there's also offline (and thus unlinkable) references in magazines such as Starlog, Starburst, Empire, Cinefantastique, the official Babylon 5 magazine, and others. There's also references in the books The Babylon File: The Definitive Unauthorised Guide to J. Michael Straczynski's TV Series Babylon 5 and The A to Z Guide of Babylon 5.

This anonymous editor may not be well-versed in Babylon 5 history, but I am, having been involved with the show online since *before* it aired. These statements are not just POV commentary, they are fact. TheRealFennShysa 02:58, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Expansion

edit

There's more to say about it this web site, in the sources cited as further reading, than is said by this article. For example: Our article doesn't mention, as several of the sources do, the fact that the Lurker's Guide was preferred by fans over the official web site. One source even does a side-by-side comparison. Uncle G (talk) 19:16, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

German version?

edit

Why no mention of the Lurker's Guide in other languages? There used to be a German clone of the Guide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.62.47 (talk) 03:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Any info on when and why it stopped getting updated?

edit

As far as I can see, the last update was shortly before the release of Babylon 5: The Lost Tales in 2007. References are made to it's impending release, but that the site's author is on vacation at the moment and will write about it when he comes back. Does anybody know why that never happened? Seems like the Babylon 5 Wiki is the current focal point of the fans, but I cant find any mentions of what happened with The Lurker's Guide on there, the usenet group or any other site I can find. 213.89.227.243 (talk) 04:03, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

No clue. I suppose it's possible that the site maintainer died of despair after seeing The Lost Tales... Jclemens (talk) 04:51, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
