"Besides being featured in the film, it has since become impossible to replicate due to a lost tool."

that's weird sounding and confusing

Agreed. Sounds like blatant advertising. If someone wants to supply a reference that would be good. Also the dubbing commment ("Film's dialogue was dubbed to French by its actors") seems just plain wrong. IMDB lists the original as French which I would expect seeing as Luc and half the cast were French. I'll delete both and see if anyone screams. --Nickj69 11:52, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

OKay, the introduction describes the film as a "modest box office hit in the US." In the body of the article, it is stated that the film was a "commercial failure in North America." Granted North America is larger than the US, but it is hard to see how both statements could be true.66.55.6.146 (talk) 19:34, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Taking a modest amount of theater receipts does not mean it made back the costs of production, marketing, or distribution. Umma Kynes 14:10, 25 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ummakynes (talkcontribs)

Plot?

edit

I looked this up to fill in some gaps in my memory about this movie. Sadly the entire plot section seems to be nothing more than what might be printed on the back of the dvd box I could have picked up at blockbuster. Anyone want to expand beyond that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.185.84.11 (talk) 18:55, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

American Version

edit

The film was not a failure due to the recutting. The American edit was much needed, and resulted in an amusing film with an enigmatic character and great underwater footage. The original French version was too long, it spoiled the main character with tedious scenes of him acting goofy, and the electronic music score was horrible. It's a pity that the American recut version is not more accessible, because it's actually a much better movie. DonPMitchell (talk) 06:40, 23 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
