What are you talking about?

edit

There are two different units in idf wich are bould from minorities: "Gdud Herv"(Druze) and "Gadsar Bedui"(Bedouins). There are no bedouins in Gdud Herev and no druze in Gadsar Bedui. It's unundersood that unit are you talking about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.181.102.91 (talk) 09:56, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I actually asked the same thing in the past. The author of the article does not appear to have personal knowledge of the subject and was sourcing a book, which is probably outdated. The Unit of the Minorities is a former IDF unit which I believe was disbanded in the 80s or 90s. I have tagged the article for factual accuracy, and it probably needs a general rewrite. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 15:42, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Still disputed

edit

Gilabrand added some sources and info to the article, which is commendable. However, it still appears that the basic premise of the article is incorrect. It's unclear where it says that the minorities unit still exists under this name, and even more unclear is that it's called Unit 300 (actually Unit 300 is a territorial brigade in the north, having nothing to do with minorities). Also unclear is how this relates to the Herev Battalion and the Bedouin Tracking Unit, which are independent units. —Ynhockey (Talk) 13:14, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unit 300 existed at least through 1982 , period of the first Lebanon War, 300 fought along side the Nahal Brigade and other smaller units. They were comprised of a mix of Jewish Non Jewish, Arab, Druze Israell Bedouin and even Polish and American immigrants. They fought along side each other in Lebanon mostly along the coastel road in refugee camps ruled by the PLO. The Unit was definitely called 300, its member base was varied and it may have been disbanded after 1982.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zvi1938 (talkcontribs) 03:07, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
