editI've gone ahead and turned this stub into a redirect to The Red Curtain Trilogy. The latter article contains all of the information presented here, and seems to be a much better place for information about what is, essentially, merely a label for a set of Baz Luhrmann films, rather than a cinematic genre in its own right, as evidenced by the fact that the present article had been listed as orphaned since February 2009 and needing additional citations since June 2007.
