Taking ownership

Well, this page seems rather abandoned. So, I'm going to slowly work on it as time permits to try to fill it out and add some more information. Wizzy420 05:19, 12 Jan 2008 (UTC)

Kris Siegel aka Polk Audio Marketing Department

edit

User:Kris Siegel the creator of this wiki article is also a paid employee of the Polk Audio marketing department. This page has hence been marked for speedy deletion. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.126.236.103 (talk) 17:58, 6 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

That would indicate a POV issue, and may be a valid reason for deletion. However, Google News is indicating 67 hits - which indicates some form of notability that may be better discussed in an AFD. For now, I listed the article at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_May_7. --Sigma 7 04:22, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
It certainly indicates grounds for keeping a very close watch over the entry once it is back, and quite possibly removing most of all of the "text on Polk Audio's Wikipedia entry that has been reproduced from www.PolkAudio.com". We do indeed need to get in touch with Mr. Siegel, but kicking him out is not the way to start.

For the record, Mr. Siegel, Polk Audio does not own the entry, the license under GFDL gives anyone in the world including any editor here a free hand to use & edit the material as they see fit, material that is thought similar to advertising copy rather than objective description is ruthlessly deleted from WP, & nobody is likely to feel any need to get in touch with you regarding "any questions, comments, concerns or problems." According to our COI policies, "If you feel the need to add content to Wikipedia articles despite a real or perceived conflict of interest, we strongly encourage you to submit the content for review on the article's talk page," not the article. DGG, I'm a bit late with this response but you do realize that I was not the one who added the "Question, Comments, etc", right? I am also not a paid employee of Polk Audio (I was several years ago when this area was first created but I was not when the first user stated I was). I am not part of the Polk Audio company so if you need to contact anyone or respond to anyone then please contact Polk Audio. Kris (talk) 18:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:PolkaudioLogo.gif

edit

Image:PolkaudioLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
