edit

This example hand: ♠Txxx ♥AJ ♦KTxx ♣KQxx) on which one might not show ones Spades after recieving a 1H response, has fourteen cards. Will in New Haven

Rebid question

edit

Consider this other example hand:

  •  Axxx  KQxx  Jxx  Ax : planning to force to game, in either spades or notrump, (or, remotely possibly, diamonds)

It seems clear to me to rebid 3NT, not 2 here. Suppose partner has the other example hand which would have bypassed 1 ( Txxx  AJ  KTxx  KQx. Do you really want to be in 4? And as noted, if partner has  Kxx  AJx  KQTxx  xx, 5 is nearly cold, while 3NT is hopeless on a club lead, but can you get there (or to 4)? Matchups 18:22, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should the article title not be New Minor Forcing, i.e. caps on all of the words? Newwhist (talk) 12:25, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
