Talk:Neve 8078

I have "bolded" the above statement as being erroneous. Early 8078's did indeed use BA438 and BA440 discrete transistor amplifier units, but many 8078's went out the door with BA638 and BA640 amplifiers that have 5534 IC's as the gain stage. Geoff T 21:54, 14 December 2006 (UTC) Again, I have "bolded" that section as I am not aware of a single 8078 that was broken up. At least two companies that I am aware of make/made copies of the 31105 channel amplifiers that fit in 8078's and may give the impression that the consoles were broken up to obtain them. The consoles are far too valuable to break up! There are also a range of similar large consoles made for Utopia Studios and Sony that are not 8078's and one of those may have been dismantled following a life of bodged mods and poor maintenance.Reply

I am happy for the original poster to remove my notes provided that he corrects the erroneous statements in his entry. Geoff T 02:43, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
