Episode 4 image

edit

Isn't the image for episode 4 actually from an earlier episode (2 or 3)?--Thessaly 07:35, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nope, it's from Episode 4, look here on the website. TAnthony 04:52, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Errors

edit

There was of course no "Spanish Emperor", although Charles King of Spain became Holy Roman Emperor.

Nor could there have been an English (or any other) "Ambassador to Italy" as Italy did not then exist as a political entity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.252.193.160 (talkcontribs) 09:34, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Episode 10

edit

At the start of episode 10, what on earth are they doing to the king's penis? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.197.146.44 (talkcontribs) 04:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Footnote

edit

Is the footnote on Katherine's name really necessary? The series is correct in using the spelling generally accepted by historians. I think it could be eliminated, but if not, rewording is necessary, possibly with a link to the section of Katherine of Aragon's wikipedia page that discusses the spelling of her name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.216.251 (talkcontribs) 21:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The footnote was added because someone kept changing the name to match the historical spelling; it probably is overkill in this particular article though. — TAnthonyTalk 17:48, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dates

edit

The dates I used for the table are based on the following events with known real dates.

  • Season 1, Ep. 1 – Treaty of Universal Peace (1518)
  • Season 1, Ep. 2 – Lady Blount gives birth (1519)
  • Season 1, Ep. 3 – Thomas More knighted (1521)
  • Season 1, Ep. 4 – Henry declared "Defender of the Faith" (1521)
  • Season 1, Ep. 5 – Anne attracts Henry's attention (circa 1526)
  • Season 1, Ep. 7 – Sweating sickness (1528)
  • Season 1, Ep. 8 – Campeggio in London (1528)
  • Season 1, Ep. 9 – Wolsey sent off to York (1529)
  • Season 1, Ep.10 – Wolsey dies (1530)
  • Seaaon 2, Ep. 1 – The dinner poisoning (1531)
  • Seaaon 2, Ep. 2 – Anne made Marquess of Pembroke (1532)

The only confirmed dates we have from the show are for the beginning of episode 2.01, which is specifically stated to take place in 1532, and for the Season Two finale, which covers the 18th and 19th of May, 1536.

The poisoning incident may have taken place in 1531 in reality, but on the show it happened in 1532.193.95.162.29 (talk) 12:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

ETA - This would mean that from the Christmas celebrations in episode 2.02 to the Christmas celebrations in 2.04 probably covers one year, December 1532-December 1533, a very busy twelve months for Anne; she is elevated to the peerage in her own right, she travels to France with Henry, conceives Elizabeth, gets married, gets crowned Queen of England, gives birth and gets pregnant again.86.47.42.32 (talk) 12:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Original Airdate, what country?

edit

I am aware that the series is an Irish-Canadian production, however is the airdate referring to when it first in Ireland, Canada or the UK? We need to specify to the audience, otherwise we could be misleading them, because it will air on different dates in different countries. IJA (talk) 20:54, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
