Japan

The article was 100% about Japan. The concept is not specific to Japan - it's an expression in common use in English, in fact the Japanese term is transliterated from English "career woman". I have made it general, with all except the definition in a huge "Japan" section. I would suggest possibly a new article, either "Career woman (Japan)" or "kyariūman" as there's so much about Japan. Still POV, though. Pol098 (talk) 16:49, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I fully agree, so I moved it to Kyariaūman now. I wouldn't say "career woman" is specifically a Japanese term. Mikael Häggström (talk) 12:32, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Expanding the "Career Woman" article

edit

I would like to add some information that I believe is important to the "Career Woman" article, which re-directs to this talk page. Particularly, I believe that there is a lot of content about occupational sexism that can be added directly to this article, rather than redirecting to the parent article. For example, statistics or other discussions about sexual harassment in the workplace, as well as expanding on the gender pay gap and glass ceiling in a context that particularly applies to "career women" rather than women as a whole. Also, these additions would apply largely to the U.S. and Europe, as the article currently discusses only Japan, and does to briefly.

Sounds good. I now made Talk:Career woman a talk page of its own. Mikael Häggström (talk) 19:09, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
