More solid info please?

edit

Most of this article reads like a government or developer's promotional brochure. Does anybody have more info on what all this advertising and investment has actually produced, e.g. local and foreign businesses that have set up shop in the IDR, how many people are in the residential areas, what is the crime rate compared to other parts of Johor...etc.

(I really hate the word "thrust" as used here, by the way. Sounds very phallic.) Xenobiologista (talk) 05:01, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think there should be an explanation of Free Access Zones.Wai Hong 13:37, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sjerlogo.gif

edit

Image:Sjerlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Population

edit

Is there a reliable reference for the current population of the region? The article currently claims:

  1. In the introduction: "Iskandar Malaysia /.../ is Malaysia's second largest urban agglomeration with a population of 2,500,000, after Greater Kuala Lumpur."
  2. In the Area section: "The population of Iskandar Malaysia is slightly over 2 million in 2020."
  3. In the infobox: 1.805 million

This might be because a) the numbers are from different years (for example, the infobox number is from 2013); b) there are confliction definitions of the region, some comprising a larger area (and more people) than others; c) conflicting population counts; d) multiple or other reasons.

Whatever the cause, we should either mention why there are conflicting numbers or pick and stick to the most reliable one. ehn (talk) 06:32, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Exactly the concern, which is why I have added a population table to this article, based on the 2020 census from the Malaysian Department of Statistucs. Official statistics from DOSM should serve as the default source of info when it comes to population in Malaysia. Corncaker (talk) 08:50, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
