Obadiah Stane and Luthor

edit

Stane forms an interesting comparison with Luthor, as they both are bald, but Luthor did not become an arms dealer until after Stane was introduced. However, Stane's origin involving premature baldness was rather more intriguing than Adventure Comics#271.

Stane's baldness occurred after he witnessed his father, after a winning streak, deciding to show Obediah how good his winning streak was by playing a round of russian roulette and putting a bullet in his own head. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.184.189 (talk) 02:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Origins of Iron Monger armor

edit

The iron monger armor is based on the original design of the iron man armor. In the comics this was the one Tony Stark put together in the jungle. It lacked all the miniturization circuitry and it was also the reason why the thing was grey. At least that's the impression I got from reading the comic. The design was from one of T.S's old journals. For example, for all it's size, the Iron Monger armor only boosted the strength level to around 50 tons. The regular iron man armor matches it and then some. It's greatest strength was the external computer help for the combat systems which I.M took full advantage of.

The information is culled from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe v2 deluxe edition. Can't seem to find my number 6 which would contain the iron man armor but i do have number 19 with obediah stane's entry (book of the dead). These were the best since they gave great detail of the history of the character and great detail about power levels and equipment. The new OHotMU editions are pale comparisons and are very sparse compared to these. You could just read these and get the entire character's history to that point.

Anyway I believe that Stane's belief in his armor was a conceit and not based on actual performance ability.

Split?

edit

I feel like there's enough material on Obidiah to merit him having his own page, with the Iron Monger page making brief reference to him, much like other comics pages that have one page for a hero/villain identity shared by multiple characters and a second for their civilian identity. Ultimate Obadiah

edit

Should there A LEAST be mention of Ultimate Obadiah Stane in Ultimate Iron Man. He's really important. Anybody agree? (JoeLoeb (talk) 19:30, 16 February 2009 (UTC))Reply

paralyser/stunner

edit

In the Iron Man movie with Robert Dowey Jr, Obadiah has a small keychain sized device that temporaly paralyses people (unless they wear earplugs) he uses this device to steal the proto type Iron man armour and to steal Tony Stark's Arc reactor can we add it? it seems important --Lerdthenerd wiki defender 11:59, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Size in IMAA.

edit

If every shot in the cartoon shows the Iron Monger to be as tall as a six story building, is it speculation to say it is taller than the 30 feet stated in a dialogue? Omeganian (talk) 06:06, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

MCU succession box

edit

Is there any good reason at all to include this[1] as has been done in several articles? 73.168.15.161 (talk) 06:12, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
